Identify purpose and target

When it comes to bottle sleeve printing, the sky’s the limit… so it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start. Establishing who your bottle hangers are for, and what you want those target consumers to do, is the key to creating a cohesive and focused artwork design.

Are you looking to boost product sales with a discount offer or on-pack giveaway? Funnel customers into your online channels with a QR code or your social media handles? Cement your brand positioning with your marketing copy?

Your bottle hangers can be designed to serve more than one purpose, but don’t stretch your design too thin by trying to fit a whole handful of marketing objectives at once. Focus on just one or two core objectives instead – this will help create successful hanger tags.

Keep things simple

We can’t stress this enough. Overloaded designs are difficult to read and rarely succeed at drawing the consumer’s eye.

Keep your core marketing message succinct and ensure it takes visual precedence over everything else on your design. Keep the number of colours down to just two or three – four at the very most.

Use colours cleverly

Understanding the symbolism of each colour – and how certain colours can harmonise or contrast with one another – can help you craft a more engaging artwork design that truly appeals to your target consumers.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different styles and elements, but make sure your final design still connects back to your brand’s visual identity.
